We are delighted to announce that the Winner of the FutureEverything Award 2011 is: Macon Money by Area/Code. Read news item featuring a video interview and the announcement in Wired.

The FutureEverything Award recognises outstanding achievement for innovation in art, society & technology. It celebrates creative projects in any medium that offer a new and unique way to experience or see the world and help to bring the future into the present. The winner receives a £10,000 cash prize and the FutureEverything Trophy.

The Winner was selected from a shortlist of three outstanding projects:

 

The winner was selected by the International Jury and an open vote of the FutureEverything Community, our world-wide community of past festival participants, speakers and delegates. The trophy will be presented at a Gala Ceremony during the FutureEverything Festival in May.

The 2011 International Jury is Bruce Sterling, Yukiko Shikata, Jeremy Myerson. The 2011 International Advisory Group is Régine Debatty, Anthony Townsend, Jo Kazuhiro, Dooeun Choi, Marcos García, Gavin Artz, Gisela Domschke, Karen Gaskill. The Awarding Bodies are FutureEverything and ImaginationLancaster.
