The winner of the FutureEverything Award 2011 was Macon Money by Area/Code.
Macon Money is a city-wide social game that crosses between the real world and online social media to try and solve problems around segregation. The project’s producer, Kati London of Area/Code, was presented with the £10,000 prize at a Gala Awards ceremony by Sir Richard Leese, Leader of Manchester Council, during the four-day FutureEverything Festival in Manchester.

Macon Money was selected by the International Jury and an open vote from the FutureEverything Community, our world-wide community of past festival participants, speakers and delegates. The trophy was presented at a Gala Ceremony during the FutureEverything Festival in May 2011.

The Winner was selected from a shortlist of three outstanding projects. The Runners-up in 2011 were:

The FutureEverything Award recognises outstanding achievement for innovation in art, society & technology. It celebrates creative projects in any medium that offer a new and unique way to experience or see the world and help to bring the future into the present. The winner receives a £10,000 cash prize and the FutureEverything Trophy.
The 2011 International Jury was Bruce Sterling, Yukiko Shikata and Jeremy Myerson.The International Advisory Group was Régine Debatty, Anthony Townsend, Jo Kazuhiro, Dooeun Choi, Marcos García, Gavin Artz, Gisela Domschke, Karen Gaskill. The awarding bodies were FutureEverything and ImaginationLancaster.
