What kind of future do you want to live in? What does accessibility mean to different communities? Do we all have the same access to technology? How can we build a truly accessible Smart City?
Join us on Wednesday 29th March, to have your voice heard on the future of Manchester and CityVerve, a project which aims to set an example for the way Internet of Things (IoT) technology is used in the city we live, work and play in.
In this evening workshop, we’ll give you an introduction to the world of the Internet of Things (IoT) and explore the possibilities for Manchester by imagining what the future might look like in 2-5 years time. We want to know what you think about accessibility, technology and your opinions on how Manchester can be more inclusive.
You don’t need any technical expertise or previous knowledge of IoT, we’re just interested to hear your opinion on what you would like your city could look like. We want as many different people in the room, to shape the future of Manchester, from those who have no idea about technology through to experts. We want to hear your thoughts, feelings and opinions about Manchester and technology, to help influence the future of the city. You’ll have the opportunity to question the status quo and challenge assumptions about what makes technology accessible.
If you’re interested in thinking about the future, and how IoT could be used to improve the lives of people in the city, sign up!
You can see the outcomes from our past community forums here.
Please note there will be videography and photography at this event, let us know if you have any concerns. Hot food will be provided.
