This workshop is designed for the finalists of the Apps for Europe Competition and will explore in detail how the different crowdfunding models work and how to successfully crowdfund a project or business. This workshop will look at Bike City Guide, winners of the Apps for Europe Competition at Future Everything 2014, as a case study. Bike City Guide successfully crowdfunded €136,550 from 160 investors. Through hearing about the journey Bike City Guide has made through crowdfunding the workshop cohort will then be split into groups to plan how they might crowdfund a business or app idea. This workshop will share insights from Nesta research and practical work on crowdfunding. This will include practical tips on how to get started on a campaign, from selecting the right model and platform to setting up the campaign and reaching potential backers.
