Heading to Ars Electronica? Join our panel and roundtable session to co-create actionable recommendations for art interventions in the Internet of Things. The event will stimulate an interactive conversation around ideas of transparency, literacy, ethics and governance in the IoT. Attendees will explore artistic intervention as a practical and conceptual toolset to challenge current thinking and explore possible futures.

This Roundtable session will investigate the value of artistic intervention as a key element of innovation, in particular focusing on how arts practice can question and inform tangible, practical projects. The roundtable will collide the festival theme of Error with FutureEverything’s ongoing exploration of trust in the IoT ecosystem, exposing how Error might be understood when interactions and processes are themselves hidden.

The roundtable draws on the World Café methodology, in which a viable and vibrant large scale dialog is developed as participants are able to move from group to group, engaging in quick-fire, curated debate. The format makes maximum use of all of the expertise in the room and leans on two of the Open Space principles: Whoever comes are the right people, and Wherever it is, is the right place. In this way, the roundtable café will create a rich experience for all the participants, be they invited expert or casual attendee.
