Visitors to FutureEverything are recommended to visit the new Whitworth Art Gallery, open daily including Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm.

The Whitworth reopened with a new landscape wing and an impressive makeover only two weeks ago. The spectacular programme boasts Cornelia Parker’s largest solo exhibition to date.

The Whitworth is home to an impressive collection of contemporary, modern and historic fine art, from Sarah Lucas to Lucien Freud, William Blake to Rachel Whiteread. We especially recommend Thomas Schutte’s etchings of his visual diary, a humourous tour through the artist’s tangential, experiential conscience, and Cai Guo-Qiang’s Unmanned Nature, which uses gunpowder, an element of human warfare, to create haunting drawings of historic conflict.

If you find yourself free on Saturday before our evening of live events, The Whitworth, with its unique rooms and spacious architecture, is a ten minute walk away.

This is shaping to be a very big year for Manchester, with HOME also opening in 2015, and The Factory also announced.

Outside the FutureEverything festival, Manchester boasts a wealth of cultural venues and events spanning the city centre, from art and design, science and innovation.

Open Daily: 10am-5pm
The Whitworth, The University of Manchester, Oxford Road, Manchester, M15 6ER
The Whitworth is a walk, bike ride or bus journey from Manchester city centre, further down Oxford Road beyond the FutureEverything hub at RNCM.
