Do your children fancy trying their hand at electronics or learning what it takes to build their own designs from scratch? New Inventors is a day of workshops to introduce new skills in problem solving and creative making. Bring your children along to set them on their way as creative inventor. This workshop will provide participants with the confidence to go on and continue making DIY electronics projects at home.
DIY Electro Dough Workshop
11am – 12pm or 12.15–1.15pm
£7 per child* (ages 7–11)
In this workshop, participants learn how to create sculptures using conductive dough which will be brought to life with light and sound electronics. By the end of this workshop, participants will have developed an understanding of how low-current electronic products work, by using components to create products of their own. All participants will be able to take the kits home at the end of the session to continue creating new inventions at home.
*Kit normally retails at £15
DIY Synth Kit Workshop
1.45–2.45pm or 3.00–4.00pm

Are your children interested in creating music, and technology? In this workshop, participants will learn how to build their own electronic synthesiser, with no soldering required. This DIY synthesiser will allow participants, musical or otherwise, to create weird and wonderful sounds while learning about technology. Throughout the day we’ll also have an all ages drop-in art ideas space, where children can explore, brainstorm and craft ideas for the inventions of the future.
**Kit normally retails at £22.50
