Come and be part of a large scale outdoor multimedia performance about the future of Manchester!
The SUPERGESTURES premiere performance on the 3rd of March 2018 will reveal personal stories recorded by young people across Manchester and collective SUPERGESTURES that embody their relationships to the city.
As a participant (no expertise required!) you will don a SUPERGESTURES powersuit laced with technology – body gesture sensors, vibration, LEDs and audio outputs. In an hour-long interactive public performance walking around Manchester, you will be immersed in stories about freedom, pride, technology and ownership in the city.
SUPERGESTURES is a participatory art project by Ling Tan (www.lingql.com), co-created with young people across Manchester. Audio and digital content for the performance were produced by a total of 50 young participants aged 15-30 years old during a series of SUPERGESTURES workshop sessions in January and February 2018.
The performance will take place at 4.30-6.30pm on the 3rd of March 2018, and is open to members of the public above the age of 15. Places are limited so sign up soon! www.supergestures.com/
