Presented in partnership with the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design, this workshop explored the theme of Urban Routines. A team of creative technologists from the UK, alongside recent graduates from the Strelka Postgraduate Research Programme (Alina Bibisheva, Alexander Ayoupov, Daniele Belleri, Nicholas Moore), worked with workshop participants to interrogate the gigantic and complex world of the ordinary, everyday life of a city. Participants generated creative concepts and prototypes in response to the theme of ‘post-institutional models of organisation’. In addition to the workshop, the programme presented a series of seminars on related research and practical sessions on both hi-tech and low-tech prototyping tools and techniques.
Selected works will be showcased as part of the ‘Festival as Lab’ programme at the FutureEverything Festival in Manchester, 26-28 February 2015, giving participants the opportunity to stage co-design, prototyping and public trials of their project; engaging festival visitors across the city. More details will be announced soon.
