Celebrating its 20th year, the FutureEverything Festival returns to the RNCM to build on the artistic partnership between the two organisations. This co-curated programme features installations, performances, new commissions, world premieres and, for the first time, we also present a film programme in the RNCM’s Lecture Theatre.
Many events are completely free.
The Concourse: Festival Social Hub
Wednesday 25th-Saturday 28th, 6pm-late
Open each evening throughout the festival, the RNCM hosts the Social Hub on its Concourse – a space where visitors can explore the programme and meet other attendees and friends. The Social Hub is free and open to all, with DJ sets, performances, installations and a full licensed bar.
The inaugural FutureEverything film programme presents a selection of shorts and feature-length documentaries that explore the impact of digital culture on our current age. From synth pioneers to the arrival of technology in a remote Bhutan village, we have put together an eclectic mix of new and existing films, including the UK premiere of Javier Polo’s Europe in 8 Bits and the debut screening of Deep Lab by Jonathan Minard and the Deep Speed Collective. Taking place in the Forman Lecture Theatre at the Royal Northern College of Music, the film programme is a stunning collection of work by filmmakers exploring the themes of this year’s Festival.
The Art, Live and Film Programme is Developed, Commissioned and Produced in partnership with the Royal Northern College of Music.
