FutureEverything 2011 Hubs

For those of you coming to FutureEverything this year we though it would be wise to provide a quick guide to the unique spaces the festival will occupy…

Four Piccadilly Place

Piccadilly Place is a large space next to the central train station which FutureEverything will take over for the Festival period. An ideal environment to enjoy the programme, and meet and network with artists, speakers and delegates. For the Festival only, it hosts a specially designed cocktail bar provided by Absolut, plus great food by one of Manchester’s finest independent cafes, Teacup, so you can enjoy lunch on site. It is home to the two-day Conference, and the main art exhibition, as well as our registration stalls, where you can pick up your pass and find out information about the whole Festival. Located across the footbridge from Piccadilly Station and behind Mint Hotel. You can find this venue on Google Maps or take a look at directions here

Umbro Design Space

Our Music and Showcase Hub is the Umbro Design Studio, in the heart of Manchester’s creative Northern Quarter. With fantastic live music throughout the festival, kicking off with an opening party on Wednesday. It hosts a second Absolut cocktail bar, with an artwork that visualises your brainwaves while you drink. There is a special ECAS music industry event on Thursday, and a series of playful hands-on workshops featuring next level video-gaming, T-Shirt printing, a new musical instrument AlphaSphere, and the ‘Ping Pong Club’. Plus a telematic artwork linking you to people in Barcelona. You can find this venue on Google Maps here

Victoria Baths

On Saturday 14 May Manchester’s prestigious Victoria Baths are home to Handmade, FutureEverything’s day of contemporary craft. digital hacking, interactivities and DIY culture.
