We are excited to announce that in June 2015, Koreless and Emmanuel Biard’s The Well will be presented at Sónar Festival, Barcelona.
Commissioned by FutureEverything, The Well is a new performance that blurs the lines between performance, light and engineering, featuring compositions by Koreless, alongside a mylar laser mirror and lighting structures designed by Biard.
The Well premiered at FutureEverything Moscow in November 2014, and in February 2015 the work was performed in front of a sold-out audience at the FutureEverything Festival Opening Gala in Manchester. This work builds on The Hall, a live audiovisual installation by Biard and engineer David Leonard, commissioned by FutureEverything, that culminated in an audiovisual performance by electronic producer Evian Christ, alongside Koreless, at our 2014 Festival.
Lewis Roberts (aka Koreless) began making music at just nine years old. A fan of jazz, in particular John Coltrane, Roberts discovered electronic music soon afterwards, and he began releasing material under the name with which he is now internationally known in 2008. His LP, Yugen (Young Turks, 2013), gained critical praise from a wealth of avant-garde electronic music gurus including Mark Pritchard, Gilles Peterson and Benji B.
Emmanuel Biard has been producing stunning live visual installations for electronic music producers and artists for several years. He has worked closely with Fabric in London, is part of Manchester’s Hoya:Hoya collective alongside Illum Sphere and Lone, and designed the complex mirror setup for Daedelus’ Archimedes, together with David Leonard.
Sónar takes place on 18-20th June 2015 in Barcelona. Tickets are on sale now.
