About CaTalyST
Engaging communities to imagine, and build, the next generation of tools for social change, and explore innovative, bottom-up solutions to major problems in society.
CaTalyST is an innovative research project at Lancaster University. It will be fast, responsive, and community driven. It will engage academic researchers from specialisms including design, management and mobile computing to co-design with communities new approaches to citizen-led innovation.
Social media and mobile phones make possible ‘ridiculously easy group forming’ and enable people to shape the world around them in new ways. CaTalyST challenges us to imagine the next generation of technologies for social change.
