CityVerve Community Forum: Memories of Manchester

Sat 10th February, 11:00 - 15:00

Communities are the heart of Manchester. We want to tell you about a great change that’s coming.

The Whitworth, The University of Manchester, Oxford Road, Manchester, M15 6ER

Communities are the heart of Manchester. Our city doesn’t stand still; it’s continually evolving and adapting, shaped by the people that reside within.

We want to tell you about a great change that’s coming.

Join us for Memories of Manchester; a social event to connect people and uncover the hidden stories of our beautiful city. We’d like to invite you into the glorious setting of Whitworth Art Gallery as we build a tapestry of stories to explore and remember the past, present and future of Manchester. It’s an afternoon of talks, fun, creative activities and artistic sharing.

Singers, knitters, writers, readers. Artists, lawyers, students, teachers. Older or younger. New arrivals and long-established Mancunians. We want you to share your passions, discover new ones and connect with each other.

We’ll introduce you to CityVerve, a project that aims to build a smarter, more connected Manchester, creating a city that uses technology to meet the complex needs of its inhabitants. While this is a friendly, informal event, your feedback will help us understand how Smart Technology can help create change in social isolation in Manchester.

This workshop is delivered by Creative Experts in Contact and on behalf of the CityVerve Community Champions Team. CityVerve is the UK’s smart city demonstrator project.

Please note there will be videography and photography at this event, let us know if you have any concerns. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
