Future Sessions: Atmospheric Memory
In conversation: Rafael Lozano-Hemmer and José Luis de Vicente

Atmospheric Memory is inspired by Victorian inventor Charles Babbage’s proposition that all spoken words remain recorded in the air and that a powerful computer could potentially ‘rewind’ the movement of all air molecules to recreate the voices of everyone who has ever spoken in the past. This conversation will unravel the ideas behind this ambitious project and how Charles Babbage and his contemporaries’ groundbreaking thinking relates to today’s technologically-driven society.
