Following a successful visit to Future Sessions 2018, colleagues in Borlånge invited us to develop a similar offer for the new Dalarna Science Park. Using our Festival-as-Lab model to build relationships, establish new partnerships and explore methods for collaboration, the first of our workshops will take place on 10th April as part of Borlånge’s Business Week ‘Smart City: Digital, Global, Local’.

Described as an ‘industry without chimneys’, Borlänge, Sweden is an old industrial city turned modern metropolis of digital culture and development. Today, Borlänge’s experience economy is growing rapidly, stimulating a creative ecology through storytelling, emerging tech, architecture, cafe culture and education.

Taking place in Borlänge during Business Week, Future Sessions: Digital Places will bring people together to explore where these worlds collide, and uncover potential collaborative spaces between culture, technology and society.

Over a full day of workshops, Future Sessions: Digital Places invites you to interrogate current realities and imagine a better future for Borlånge.

Future Sessions: Digital Places is part of Borlänge’s Business Week (9-10 April), and runs in parallel to lectures about the “Smart City”.
