OPPORTUNITY: Digital Tech-Lab Facilitator (CLOSED)

We’re looking for artists/creative technologists to help co-develop and deliver a series of hands-on Tech-Labs across the North

We’re on the search for artists/creative technologists to prepare and facilitate a digital skills building Tech-Lab for professional and non-professional artists. The Tech-Labs will be toured over a number of weeks across four locations in the North, as part of FutureEverything’s new creative development programme, PROTO.

The PROTO_Tech-Labs are one strand of the PROTO creative development programme, and have been designed to give participants an insight into the world of digital making. The Tech-Labs are in-person, guided workshops led by Tech-Lab facilitators, where participants will get an opportunity to experiment with digital art tools, programmes and technologies.

About the PROTO programme

PROTO is FutureEverything’s groundbreaking creative development programme designed to nurture and encourage the growth of artists looking to enhance their digital creativity through skill development, digital learning and networking.

The programme aims to remove barriers to digital arts, ensuring that all artists, regardless of their background or experience level, have the opportunity to gain insight into digital arts practices, build confidence, and expand their knowledge.

For nearly 30 years, FutureEverything has been at the forefront of supporting the development of artists and digital arts practices across the UK and beyond. With PROTO, we are building on this legacy, leveraging our extensive experience and expertise in the field of art and technology to create a programme that is both cutting-edge and deeply inclusive.

Funded by Arts Council England and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the PROTO programme aims to support artists ranging from emerging artists, mid-career artists and non-professionals with an emphasis on underrepresented communities in the arts sector.

PROTO_Tech-Lab themes and requirements

+ Develop digital skills – Tech-Labs will explore specific digital skills or techniques in either creating art or sustaining a career in the arts.

+ Sustainable methodologies – FutureEverything recently announced its intention to appoint Nature to its Board and as such, we’re keen to explore and share sustainable digital practices. These themes will be embedded into the Tech-Lab session, whether it’s the programmes/tools used during the session or part of the Tech-Lab conversation.

+ Public access learning resources – The Tech-Lab programmes and tools must be open source and freely available to PROTO participants, should they wish to continue to explore these materials outside of the Tech-Lab. We’re open to hearing your suggestions.
