Dr. Drew Hemment is a Chancellors Fellow at Edinburgh Futures Institute.
Over 20 years, his work has been covered by New York Times, BBC and NBC and recognised by awards from the arts, technology and business sectors, including the STARTS Prize, Lever Prize and Prix Ars Electronica.
Drew founded FutureEverything in 1995, and was Creative Director for 23 years. He is PI of the GROW Observatory (H2020), a citizens’ observatory on soils, growing and a changing climate. Drew champions open culture and bottom-up innovation, most recently through Making Sense (H2020). He develops programmes at the interface of art and technology innovation, including Trust in Invisible Agents. He helped to introduce art and human centred design into flagship IoT and Smart Cities programmes in Europe. In 2015, Drew was artistic director of the digital culture programme of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Singapore, commissioned by the Singapore Government.
