How do you amplify and curate conversation beyond a big event?

Innovation happens when you bring diverse perspectives together, and that’s exactly what Emerging Futures set out to do. During a one-day pilot event in Manchester, the Clore Leadership Programme brought together aspiring cultural leaders, change-makers and creative entrepreneurs with inspiring creative thinkers, makers and doers. Throughout the day, attendees explored themes of technology, cultural democracy, wellbeing and leadership through a mix of inspiring talks, debates and workshops.

As digital partners for Emerging Futures 2018, we shared those ambitions, seeking to extend the conversations, collaborations and provocations beyond the day itself. We worked closely with the Clore Leadership Programme team and freelance event producer Diane Morgan to design and deliver an innovative digital engagement strand for the live event.

On the run up to the event this meant creating and curating thought-provoking content for The Hub, as well as getting conversation going on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. On the day itself, we were all about capturing the action: live streaming talks, live tweeting key insights and bringing the people at home into the conversation (with #EmergingFutures2018 trending on Twitter before the day was out). Our very own Feimatta Conteh also hosted the event, introducing speakers, reflecting on provocations and curating audience debate through Sli.do. After the event, we updated The Hub with all the film and photography captured on the day, adding to the growing, content-rich resource on the Hub that people can access well into the future.
