Gaurav Singh Nijjer (he/him) is a theatre-maker, creative technologist and arts manager based in New Delhi, India. He works as General Manager at Kaivalya Plays (India), Communications Manager at The Nursery Theatre (UK) and Web Designer at the Martin E. Segal Theater Center (US).
As a theatre-maker, his artistic practice investigates live performance and audience-performer interactivity using technology and distanced composition. He brings his professional experience in marketing, technology and data to explore new ways of engaging audiences, in the theatre, at home and otherwise. He recently co-directed ‘Lifeline 99 99’, a unique one-on-one interactive performance on the phone that received critical acclaim and served as the technical director for the show ‘The Amazing Flabby-Breasted Virgin and Other Sordid Tales’ by the theatre group KathaSiyah that made its premiere in February 2022.
He graduated with MA in Advanced Theatre Practice (Distinction) at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2021, receiving the prestigious Chevening Scholarship by the UK Government. He has previously received the Gender Bender grant in 2019 for his show ‘Aguebao’ and the C3: Creative, Codes and Community grant in 2022 for the project *India Arts Funding Forum’.
