Profile: Jacob Bolton

Jacob Bolton

Artist & Writer

Jacob Bolton writes, designs and does arts projects (the last one under the name JPEG Bolton) — largely about public space (on and offline), technology and power.

His writing has appeared in Rhizome and ArtReview, and his visual work has been shown in Tate Liverpool, arebyte Gallery and in the Wrong Biennial. Generally, he works with photography, cartography, code, and video.

His “main thing” is infrastructure and the way it materialises and enacts power dynamics. Other things he’s into include the politics of resource extraction, logistics, and financialisation.
