Vicky Clarke is a sound and electronic media artist, whose work explores materiality, electrical phenomena and ritual. Working with sound sculpture, DIY electronics and human-machine systems, she explores techno-emotional states through composition and live AV performance. She produces music under the moniker SONAMB and released her debut album, SLEEPSTATES, ‘‘a glitchy experimental techno jerker” (Boomkat) in 2022 with recent shows including IKLEKTIK, MUTEK and supporting Forest Swords. AURA MACHINE, her sonic AI piece, from her Musique Concreté and Machine Learning residency with NOVARS, University of Manchester, featured on FACTmag’s PatchNotes series. In 2020 Vicky was awarded an Oram Award from PRS Foundation and New BBC Radiophonic Workshop and is currently an ‘In Motion’ composer for Sound and Music UK 2024.
