An evening of exclusive talks and presentations from our PROTO artists as they explore new digital directions
Presented by FutureEverything in collaboration with Stockroom
Join us for a special evening of conversation and creativity as we celebrate PROTO — an exhibition of early-stage digital experiments and artworks by eight artists from across the North of England, developed through FutureEverything’s artist development programme.
Bringing together artists, creatives and cultural professionals from Greater Manchester and beyond, the event marks the culmination of this year’s PROTO programme, which supports new directions in digital practice.
Expect:
– Presentations and demonstrations from exhibiting artists
– Food, drinks and opportunities to network
– Insight into the PROTO programme and the process of creating digital artworks
The screen-based artworks range from virtual butterflies crafted from discarded cans and ghostly marine fossils, to layered digital bodies and spawning fungus. This evening of talks and presentations will delve into the unique outcomes of each artist’s PROTO journey.
Created in just over a month with the support of digital artist, Nicholas Delap, these artworks implement skills learned through Tech Labs and contextual ideas from Masterclasses led by leading international artists.
For some of the artists, this exhibition marks their first experience working with digital tools while for others it has been a valuable opportunity to strengthen their skillsets and take their practice in new directions.
