Elena Corchero

Elena Corchero is a multi-awarded designer in the area of meaningful innovation, sustainability and women in tech. With over 15 years of experience in hands-on Futurism and  interdisciplinary technology R&D. Developing both service and hardware design concepts from wearables and haptics, to XR and IoT. Elena started her career as an MIT Media Lab Researcher and is also a Central Saint Martins MA Design Alumni.

Since graduating she has developed 3 trademarks in the areas of gender-neutral STEAM educational toys, reflective knitwear and UV awareness jewellery. She is the Director of Emerging Technology at NewsCorp envisioning  the future of media, publishing, broadcasting and hybrid events. Previously worked as an independent Innovation Strategy consultant and product designer with renowned Fortune 500 companies, artists and institutions such as Ericsson, Childish Gambino, BBC, Unilever, Diageo, Cadbury, Hugo Boss, Audi, Julius Baer, SAP, V&A Museum, London Olympics and more.

Her work has been exhibited and featured worldwide in museums, books and publications including Elle magazine, BBC news, CNBC The Edge, Boston Science Museum and more. Awards include the Royal Pitch@Palace named 2nd most disruptive business, Top3 Innovator of the year, winner of the Diageo Spark Award, NESTA Innovation award, and many more.

Elena is a professional speaker at international conferences, from MIT Technology Review EmTech conference to TEDx and the international Cooperation Summit in China. She also mentors startups for the Meaningful Business initiative supporting impact entrepreneurs pro SDGs, and contributes to the UNTIL United Nations Technology Innovation Lab.
