What does it mean to attune to Nature and to give the more-than-human world a genuine say in how our organisations operate?
FutureEverything now has rare, practical experience in bringing the voice of Nature into a cultural organisation. Building on this, we have designed the Nature Directed Incubator to help others take the same step.
The Incubator is a bespoke service that draws on FutureEverything’s pioneering work as the first cultural organisation globally to appoint Nature to its Board, integrating legal expertise, systems thinking, and creative methods.
Inspired by the growing Rights of Nature (RoN) movement, the Incubator translates ecological and legal principles into practical and imaginative tools for systemic change through a three-tiered framework to help cultural organisations align their decision-making with ecological principles.
The Incubator equips organisations to go beyond basic compliance and innovate with how they can collaborate with the more-than-human as active participants and decision-makers. This service draws on the support of the collaborators who’ve been part of our own transformative journey, including our Working Group and Lawyers for Nature who bring extensive experience in nature positive governance through their work with a variety of organisations.
“Collaborating with Nature on the Board directly challenges the nature/human binary – a key enabler of the ecological crisis in the first place. The model raises a lot of contested questions, from who speaks for Nature and how, to how we balance human and more-than-human interests.
